Thinking about adding a pug to your family?

The pug has been referred to as "Multo in Parvo", meaning "a lot of dog in a small place". Pugs are an even-tempered breed known for their stability, playfulness, charm, and outgoing, loving disposition. Because of their short coat, Pugs always look well groomed and ready to step out the door! Nothing pleases a Pug more than to be out on the town with the people they love!

Acquire your pug from a reliable source.

The best place to find your new pug puppy is to contact pug breeders in your area to find out when the next litter will be available! Reputable breeders will guarantee their pups and be willing to work with you on returning the pup should unforseen problems arise. Please be careful about buying online or at pet shops! It is highly likely that the dogs promoted online or in the local mall are Puppy Mill dogs. You will be at high risk of purchasing a pup with potential health problems, and you will have little or no recourse! To learn more about puppy mill dogs, click here.

Have a list of questions to ask the breeder and expect to be questioned in return! Responsible breeders will want to make sure that you are suitable for one of their puppies!

When looking for a puppy, keep these things in mind:

  1. Are their premises clean and odor free?
  2. Can you meet the sire and the dam? What are they like?
  3. Are the pups raised in a house or a kennel?
  4. Have the pups been regularly socialized and handled?
  5. Have the pups received regular vet exams? When will they be immunized?
  6. What does this breeder do to stimulate positive developmental growth?
  7. Do the pups get outside on a regular basis, and have they started potty training?

Once you have decided on a breeder that you can work with, be prepared to make a deposit on your pup, or leave your name on their waiting list.

It is pretty simple: Pugs are really all about happiness!

the 5 simple rules to be happy
1. Free your heart from hatred
2. Free your mind from worries
3.Live simply
4.Give more
5. Expect less

Pugs are about happiness!
